Molonglo Waterwatch Coordinator
Catchment Group is seeking a Waterwatch Coordinator to work with
volunteers, community groups, and a wide range of other stakeholder
organisations to promote and implement Waterwatch objectives and improve
the health of the Molonglo catchment.
Officer should have a sound understanding of freshwater ecology, in
particular water monitoring techniques, macroinvertebrates and riparian
vegetation. They should also have an understanding of environmental
issues affecting the catchment and be outgoing with good communication,
organisational, project management, computer and administration skills.
The Waterwatch Coordinator will be responsible to the
Executive of the Molonglo Catchment Group, which is comprised of
representatives from community Landcare groups, and reports on a
day-to-day basis to the Molonglo Catchment Coordinator and collaborates
strongly with the manager of Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch and other
Waterwatch Coordinators within the region.
The position is based in the Groupís office in
Cassidyís Arcade, off Monaro St, Queanbeyan. Part time (22.5 hours/week)
gross annual salary is $73,778 - $75,617 pro rata plus
superannuation and travel expenses. The Officer will be appointed
initially until 30 June 2015, when a review of the success of the
position will determine continuation beyond then, dependent on
availability of supplementary funding.
