Platypus month

Volunteers needed for Platypus surveys in the ACT region

Waterwatch is running some surveys throughout August to help learn more about platypus populations on selected rivers in the ACT region.

Late winter is the ideal time for spotting platypus as they spend more time feeding and the males are out and about preparing for the breeding season.

We will be doing over 20 surveys throughout August and we need your help! No experience necessary.

What to bring

Warm, sturdy clothes and footwear, binoculars and a watch/phone
