Traditional burning for the 21st Century
Integrating traditional knowledge from ‘fire stick’ farming in Ngunawal cultural pathways with present-day monitoring of changing ecology of grasslands and woodlands.
Join Ngunawal and Ngarigo Traditional Custodians Wally Bell and Rod Mason in this series of Aboriginal cool burning workshops coordinated by Molonglo Catchment Group, Upper Shoalhaven Landcare and Upper Murrumbidgee Landcare. The workshops aim to increase understanding and adoption of traditional burning practices and explore what contemporary fire management can learn from traditional fire management. The workshops will have both ecological restoration and reconciliation outcomes.
